The fine print
- Where does my money actually go?
- If you tag a surfer, 100% of your donation transfers to a ringfenced account in their name within 24 hours. PayFast and bank fees are absorbed by sponsors — USC takes zero admin fee.
- Can I get a Section 18A tax receipt?
- If USC is registered as a Public Benefit Organisation with SARS, yes. NPO/PBO status is pending — donate page will reflect the current status once confirmed. Receipts auto-email within minutes of donation.
- Can I get a refund?
- Yes, within 14 days of donation, no questions asked. After 14 days, refunds depend on whether funds have already been disbursed. Email refunds@umzumbesurfclub.com.
- What if a campaign over-funds?
- Funds raised beyond the goal stay in the named surfer's general fund (next contest, replacement gear). Never pooled to USC's general account without the surfer/guardian's written agreement.
- Is the donation form secure?
- PayFast handles all card data — USC never sees your card number. The form is POPIA-compliant and operates over HTTPS only.
